Dunes (Wallpaper)

Sun Dec 29, 2019 8:23 pm
Dear KDE Developers, Community, everyone,

I stumbled across this competition and as a grateful user of KDE, I finally saw the opportunity of contributing back. My entry, as you can see, is everything but an iteration of the graphical elements, nor is it following the scheme of the so called "ice cold" wallpaper idea. Quite the contrary, to be precise, the desert in the outback of Australia. Why am I even considering uploading this entry?
One: I mean no offense, but the graphical scheme of "abstract 3D something cold" looks a bit, well, dated? And to be honest, it can't find any other statement from peeps around me. Somehow these wallpapers feels like crawling back from the 90s :) This is not KDE to me. On the other hand, taste differs. So why am I to judge, it's just my humble opinion.
Two: I am quite sure that my wallpaper doesn't stand a chance - for it explicitily does not match the given theme criteria. But still, some of you might find it beautiful. And just for that, I think it's worth uploading them for free use.

If I'm being honest, this also looks 90's ish. As in 90's computer graphics-ish.

Taste differs, which is a good thing.
