I agree with Ken. This entry is definitely a bit more in the evolutionary direction, and it really nails that IMO. However I guess the question is whether the time is right for this. 5.18 is an LTS release after all.

It is really really beautiful though. Also artistically interesting and challenging. Very nice stuff.

Here I added a low poly effect
Image
Here is the source
https://mega.nz/#!b0dT1abb!FuzsB3-dpf5Q7TLVyo0BxJXUPrUa31rhhV3Fp9o4iOE
Disable low poly and enable hex + left border for previous wallpaper
I release this to KDE under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. Thanks

I guess you would be prepared to do the same for Kubuntu, should we want to include it if KDE does not?

Hi, one of the judges here with some feedback for your amazing wallpaper.

I feel like the original version of the wallpaper (not the low poly rendition) is the best variant of the wallpaper.
There's many motifs that can easily be recycled for other materials, which makes this a good place to evolve KDE branding towards.
However, I feel like the rich reds and purples don't really give off a KDE feel, but rather a Ubuntu feel. I wonder if some rich blues and purples would work?

Thanks for the amazing submission!

Hi!
Can I ask you to email your shipping informations to niccolo@venerandi.com, so that we can send you the package prize (baseball cap, Tux pluff, etc..)?

I keep on thinking: an animated version of this could make for a really cool screensaver or live wallpaper. Imagine the central waves drifting across the sceen, swirling mesmerizingly while the spots on the rest of the background fade in and out.

Would it be possible to make such a thing using QML and be able to select it as a lockscreen (or desktop) background?

Hi! I'm afraid I did not receive any email, or I accidentally removed it. Can I ask you to send it again?
