Idea was to create video that does not show new features from 5.18, but introduces Plasma DE as a whole (partly like arucard suggested) since 5.18 is LTS. And I miss Plasma trailer-like video. It is built around Plasma letters actually meaning something. I wanted it to be fast, constantly changing and pretty short so it offers something new and does not get boring even if you play it multiple times. Constant change of apps and windows is just like Plasma, meaning there is just so much features and things to do you surely cannot grasp in one sitting. Another idea was to create fake 3D effect with moving corners of video (was so easy and comfortable in Kdenlive) so it looks interesting and not so much flat (monitor is flat, but experience of using Plasma is definitely not, ha!).

Paul here from the panel of judges.

We have decided to extend the deadline for submissions to the Plasma and Applications video competition until the 20th of February. The reason is we have not received enough submissions with enough variety of styles.

We will be publishing shortly an article from the judges in which they explain what they would like to see in the submissions, along with advice and links to resources that will make creating an interesting video easier.

We appreciate your submission and hope the new deadline allows you to create something even more compelling that will help us promote KDE Plasma and its applications.
