Now you can select your operating system from a selection menu (list) in your User-CP.
We strongly recommend that you set your Operating System there, doing which, your OS will show up on your profile next to your posts (for example, see mine). That helps other members to know which distro you are using and can hence, provide you with a solution more quickly.

If you use linux and you don't know your distro, type the following command at the terminal (CLI) of your OS:

lsb_release -a

You can set it at User-CP -> Edit Profile (under "Additional Information") or follow this link to reach the User-CP profile page: http://forum.kde.org/usercp.php?action=profile
