Is there any way to install KDE SVN in another directory so that it sits alongside my current KDE4 desktop? I am interested in writing a few patches, but I don't want to be experimenting with my current KDE4 desktop. This is my only computer at the moment(I am a student) and I need it to function for class. I can't afford to spend time fixing things that I mess up.

I am using Kubuntu KDE4 Remix 8.04 64-bit. I will be switching back to 32-bit when I install 8.10. The version of KDE4 that I am running is the latest from the Kubuntu Repositories.

Thanks
Alex

It's possible, see http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started for that.
