How can I install the development files from kdelibs/kate?

They will be part of the KDELibs development package. Note that the Qt development package will also be required.

I only get libkateinterfaces.so with very few classes needed for Kate-plugins. But I don't want to create a Kate-Plugin, I want to use Kate-syntax-highlighting. ;)

The Kate section of KDELibs is not exported, and cannot therefore be used from other applications.
