What does KDE for Windows contain?

Thu Mar 14, 2013 9:59 pm
Hello,

I installed KDE on my Windows 7 Home Premium x64-Laptop because I'm used to it from my time with Linux. ^-^
Now I'm wondering:
What does KDE contain? The installation worked well and I can use all KDE programs, but I don't see the KDE shell/DE (desktop envoirment).
Is there anything I have to switch to set my DE from Explorer to KDE? Or isn't KDE included in KDE for Windows 7?
KDE means Kool Desktop Envoirment and I'm wondering where the acutal Desktop Envoirment is!
Is there anything I forgot? ???

Thanks for your help,
Lesik

PS: All other DE's/shells are working (sharpenviro, litestep, blackbox, emerge...)

(Sidenote: KDE does not longer stand for "Kool Desktop Environment", it is just KDE. )

The desktop environment is called plasma, and you can start it with plasma-desktop.exe from then bin/ dir in your kde installation path.

Good, short, fast and informative answer.
Thanks for that.
