Hello,

I'd like to install the KDE open source planetarium software. In the installation process, I was asked to choose a compiler. I don't even know what that is and no information was provided to help me decide. On the website, also, I didn't find the search-by-topic database useful.

Can you, therefore, tell me which compiler I should choose in the installation process and what the compiler is for? MSVC 32bit or MinGW4 32bit.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with a Windows operating system. It runs Vista and has Service Pack 2. The processor is Cereron 520 @1.6 GHz. There's 1 GB of RAM and it's a 32-bit OS.

Thank you for your kind assistance.

Just use the default, this is only important if you want to develop on top of your KDE installation.
