emerge tool giving errors

Sun Sep 15, 2013 5:22 pm
Hello, I'm new to KDE, and want to develop KDE on my Windows 7 system. I tried to follow getting started guide from here http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started ... ows/emerge
And everything works fine, until I execute
[code][emerge qt/code]
After sometime emerge stops. I'm pasting the relevant part only..

emerge debug: Task: Emerge stopped after: 1:59:28.664000

Can anyone help me understand why this is happening?

It appears emerge is having issues building OpenSSL.
Based on some search results - are you using Mingw64? See http://sourceforge.net/p/mingw-w64/disc ... /3d0af902/ for more information.

Unfortunately i've no experience in diagnosing those issues, I can only suggest you send an email to kde-windows@kde.org.

Yes mingw4. Sent mail to kde-windows@kde.org
(It says: Your mail to 'Kde-windows'
Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval.)

Couldn't gather much from the sourceforge link either.. :(

Okay. If you are using the 64-bit version of MingW, you might want to try compiling using the 32-bit version instead perhaps.
Your post has now been moderated and accepted on to the mailing list - best of luck in a response.

Okay I'll give it a try, as soon as I get some free time, and report back here as well :)
