Kleopatra crashing on Windows 7

Tue May 05, 2015 8:54 pm
Every time I try to use Kleopatra to do anything (other than running it in the background) it crashes. Not only does it stop responding, but when I try to close it using Task Manager it won't close. I have to reboot to open it again.

I don't know anything about generating bug reports or anything like that. But if someone could tell me how I can probably get one.

Ok, first off which version of Windows 7 are you running? (Home, Pro, Ultimate)

If you aren't sure, click on start, then click over to control panel.

Depending on how you view the control panel (Categories or Icons), you need to click on system (system and security first if you got it viewed in category) and from there it will tell you what version of Windows 7 you are running, as well as CPU, RAM, System type (32-Bit or 64-Bit) and all of that stuff.

Second, were you using the MSVC runtime or the MinGW runtime when you installed KDE for windows? Because from what I have experienced, MinGW runtimes for KDE are a bit buggy. But if you used the MSVC runtime, then it's a simple process of installing the runtime software that you can find about anywhere, mostly at Microsoft's download page.

As if it's just an individual issue or affects everyone that has Windows 7, I run Kleopatra on mine and runs pretty well, sure there was a bit of a delay but that's because the dBus-Daemon hasn't started running in my background.

As for finding out how to generate a bug report, I am a bit lost on that one since I also don't know how.
