I am trying to pair a Windows 10 PC with a Linux (Debian Bullseye) PC on my home network, and it's not working. Both PCs can see each other before pairing, but after I send a pair request from either PC to the other, I can't send files or do anything because they see each other as 'Device disconnected'. Sometimes, after pairing, the Linux PC stops seeing the Windows PC entirely.

The Windows PC also cannot pair with Android either. On Android it says the pairing timed out.

I can pair Linux - Android and Linux - Linux easily on this network, so I think it's a Windows issue rather than a Network issue.
Windows Firewall is turned off. I also tried with my Antivirus (Avast) turned off, but nothing changes.

KDE Connect Version on Linux: 20.12.3-1
KDE Connect Version on Windows: 21.04.1-610-windows-msvc2019_64-cl

I am not sure if this is a bug with KDE Connect or an issue with Windows. I have also been unable to get Local Peer Discovery working on BitTorrent clients on the Windows machine. So the issue points to UDP Broadcasting being blocked, yet it can't be on the Network level since these work on non-windows devices, so it must be the Windows machine. But I think I've ruled out the Firewall and Antivirus, so what else could it be?

Ok, things are getting worse here. All of the sudden, KDE Connect from Linux started losing its connection to my Android phone now. About every hour or so. And when I open the configuration app to try to see what's happening, it freezes, sometimes freezing the entire panel with it.

Half the time it unfreezes on its own and the connection returns, but in the other half I have to kill it and restart it.

I have tried deleting everything in ~/.cache and ~/.config related to kdeconnect and pairing my phone anew, but the problem persists.

EDIT: This may be a problem with my phone... It's wifi seems to be going wonky - i have had it randomly shut off twice in the middle of me using it.

Hello, did you check if your router/modem has also a firewall because when your two coputers communicate, they normally do it through the router/modem/box even on a private network, unless you have an ad-hoc wifi network which is less and less used i guess.

basically you should connect on your favrite browser via the web interface of your internet box, and you should find there settings for allowing traffic to pass through in the admin settings

usually you have to type the ip address of your box in the url bar of your browser, but it's not your public ip address, usually it is something like http://192.168.1.1 ou 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.0.254

those 4 ip addresses are the most common but your box might have something different. ask your isp or refer to your box manual

Hi, I'm facing the same issue.

My android and windows 10 machine is paired up alright, but at times when i check it shows "0 devices connected".
When i manually open the app from the tray and press refresh(sometimes without it) it gets connected back.
If it was a firewall(machine or router) issue - it wouldn't have been pairing at all - is that correct?

I'm running a win 10 machines, with the KDE connect app taken from the Microsoft store.
