Sorry, but KTorrent is really out of date and i doubt there'll be any help. You may try to compile it yourself but that takes quite some time, skills and luck.

Which distribution do you use, and which version of KDE? Also, have you forwarded the needed ports on your router?

Why do you say that KTorrent is out of date? In Windows KTorrent 3.2.0 is available which is just a minor release behind the latest 3.2.1 version.

Sorry for misleading - i'd better check twice before giving an advice next time. Yes, KTorrent is packaged with 4.2.3 release and it's version is 3.2.

mumrah, what do you mean 'stalls everytime'? Does it stall the application itself, or just the download doesn't begin? Any visual glitches?

Thanks for the response. I should have give more details.
The download doesn't begain and immediately displays stalled in the status box. I have allowed port 6881 in windows firewall and on my router.
Is 6881 the correct port to allow?

Well, i've installed KTorrent too and have the same issue here. Not sure it's somewhat related to port you are using - even if your port is closed (or you're using the wrong port) it's still possible to download. If you want to know wether you're using the right port number go to Settings -> Configure KTorrent -> Network tab and see the topmost parameter. By default it's 6881.
The thing is it does show the list of Peers, but all of them have -50 score and failed DHT (though, i guess it's wrong). If you enable the Log viewer plugin you'll be able to see error messages. As far as i can tell it sends garbage to tracker when announcing (or scraping? whatever - i've no idea what does 'scraping' mean and what does 'Scrape' button means). At least here. I've got russian version of XP and can't tell if it's due to encoding troubles.
According to what i see each torrent lacks seeders - it just doesn't find them. No idea how and if it could be solved.
Anyone else, ideas?
Mumrah, i guess it's time for you to visit bugs.kde.org :/
