I have a question about running Amarok on Windows. I have installed the KDE for Windows package and all the apps run just fine. I cannot however get the latest nightly builds of Amarok to work. I keep receiving an error message which states:
The procedure entry point ??1File@RealMedia@TabLibExtras@@UAE@XZ could not be located in the dynamic link library tag-extras.dll Can anyone help me to get this resolved? I have used Amarok on Windows before and really like the program. |

You must be running an old KDEWin Installer, download the newest installer and re-install everything.

please check that you installed both taglib and taglib-extras from the nightly server by running kdewin-installer in package manager mode

SaroEngels,
I followed your instructions and those two files are installed, but I continue to receive this error message. I am obviously doing something very wrong, but I have no idea as to what it might be. |

I had the same problem with the whole KDE:
viewtopic.php?f=59&t=78044 Try removing everything and redownloading the latest installer. |

Mmm... sorry if I ask, but just to be sure: are you using Amarok nightly builds? If yes, are you sure you have not mixed normal Windows packages (from the standard repos) with the Amarok ones (i.e. installed them in different directories)? Are you sure you have not mixed mingw and vc90 packages? If you got 3 "yes", then I don't know how to help you further... |

Ok, I just found out yesterday something about your problems: If you installed an older taglib-extras package from mafia-server.net or until yesterday the preferred taglib-extras package from saroengels.net then you would see the above problems. I cleaned up the server a bit and now the taglib-extras package should be the correct one again. To definitely get past that error, download http://mafia-server.net/amarok-nightly/unstable/2.2.0/win32/taglib-extras-vc90-20090921-bin.tar.bz2 and unpack this package into your Amarok installation directory. This should fix the issues.
