Hi,
I have KDE is installed on a Vista machine, problem is the KDE apps only run if the pc is connected to the internet. ie if the pc is stand-alone, disconnected from the web, KDE apps don't run. When finished the machine will be used stand-alone, where internet isn't an option. Anyone any idea what might be causing this/likely fix? Software details: Vista Business SP2 32-bit KDE Installer 0.9.6-5 server: http://www.winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win ... ble/latest release: stable latest (guessing stable 4.4.4 – from the highest version listed) |

As far as I know, KDE at least on Linux has no internet dependency. KDE on Windows likely requires it during installation, but should not once it has been installed.
( Obviously those applications which need the internet to work, such as Konqueror's web browsing component need internet access however ) Given the lack of response here, you may wish to mail kde-windows@kde.org

Hi bcooksley,
Many thanks for the advice. I've mailed them now, with the problem written up, and some log files attached, to try and show the problem. Not used to submitting reports to KDE, so hopefully I've sent over what they need. Regards, Simon |
