Reset plasma

Mon Aug 30, 2010 5:05 pm
Hi, I just installed KDE on Windows.

But after reboot, the plasma desktop (except one single panel) were missing.
Finally I deleted this panel but now I have no idea how to bring plasma back.

Note: It is running but not visible.

So how can I reset plasma(delete the config) completly?

Edit: Ok, I somehow managed to get the panels back but the desktop is still not visible, only the windows one.

I'm not familiar with the exact location in Win 7, in Win XP it's under c:/Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/.kde . From there, the plasma config is under share/config/plasma*.

However, I can't be much help with the issue you're seeing; I've run into the opposite - panels are wonky but desktop works fine, so I've been using plasma without any panels (there wasn't anything that I needed a panel for anyway).

Thanks, I found it.

EIDT: KDE Plasma seems not to work with Aero
EDIT 2: It does not work with the Default Windows 7 Aero theme

Here is a screenshot. Somehow the KDE-Desktop is still there.
