I have install KDE 4.4.4 in my conputer,(Thinkpad X61t) Windows 7 x86 .not only in my old windows but also a new install windows . i can't launch any KDE apps .just when i install the os that i can open like kwrite.exe, but after i install some software like MS Office 2010,G-Data anti-virus,and some thinkpad software etc. the kwrite.exe.can NOT open any more. But when i open same KDE file in others computer, both Thinkpad and desktop.,XP ,vista,or windows7.all of these can open normally.
only my computer can not. i have uninstalled all apps it still can not open ...in my X61t,only after i install windows it works,after then.it disabled..worried very much. can somebody help me?

Hi,
Today I've update from 4.4.0 to 4.5.5. And I'm not able to start any aplication. I can run kate.exe --help and I get the text help. But running kate.exe does nothing. Applocation is not started, no error message is shown. I don't know, where to look, how find out what is wrong.

even i am also facing the same problem, all Koffice applilcation exe's are compiled but unable to launch any.

For me helped to uninstall all kde applications and install it again. Then I was able to run them. But after installation of some additional applications, the KDE menu was blank and no applications can be run again. So I did the re-installation again an then it started to work again.

When you ask a question, please tell us what flavor of KDE on Windows are you using (MSVC2008, MSVC2010, MinGW32 or MinGW4), otherwise it is difficult to help you.

If you installed 4.5.4 MSVC2010 and cannot start any application, you need to install the Visual C++ 2010 Runtime and to recreate the MIME database:

rd /q /s %APPDATA%\.kde
update-mime-database %KDEDIR%\share\mime
kbuildsycoca4

I am using the mingw32 option.
