Really - 1.)downloaded and installed from the Internet ... No easy to use icons, none of KDE Named related files started while in windows ... Seemingly installed correctly? I tried to download 64bit kde4.4.4 for windows7 - though i did notice the URL came a win32 sub folder .... How do i know if the program installed properly? What do i need to do to use KDE & windows7? The url says win32 to denote that it is for windows.
When you install KDE for windows (using the installer available at http://winkde.org/pub/kde/ports/win32/i ... latest.exe), then it should automatically add a new menu in the start menu for KDE. Otherwise you can find all of the KDE executables in c:\Program Files\KDE\bin\ Are you sure you installed KDE4.4.4? I don't think there's a 64-bit version built of 4.4.4; however there is a 64-bit version of 4.5.4 which was just released yesterday for testing.
