Khelpcenter

Sun Jan 23, 2011 5:02 am
The Khelpcenter is almost missing in release 4.5.4. (I have Windows 7). The front-end of the help system opens, but cant go anywhere. I have tried the latest (kdewin-installer-gui-0.9.8-1.exe), re ran it. No change. Version 4.4 worked well some months ago. I might try to revert to that, if I can find it.

The error message reads: "The program on your computer which provides access to the help:/onlinehelp/index.html protocol has unexpectedly terminated."

Possible Causes reads: This is most likely to be caused by a bug in the program. Please consider submitting a full bug report as detailed below.

etc.

I originally tried the apparrently new KDE for Windows, but did not get to first base with the installer. (And--it is difficult to un-install, since it does not register in the Control Panel, and it does not have an "uninstall" routine.)

I suggest you file a bug in this case, it appears that the infrastructure which supports help:/ has a windows specific bug in your case.
