Unable to use the windows emerge tool

Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:27 am
Hi :)

I tried using the emerge tool as described here: http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started ... ows/emerge

I followed all instructions to the letter, but it's not working.
First I got this error while downloading prerequisites for qt:
Code: Select all
emerge error: digest value for file C:\KDE\download\pexports-x64-0.44-bin.tar.bz
2 (bbc02ca7b5475bc5274126bd72a08952ec1734fc) do not match (dd9497260e89c25e51f120de41949a09f08ee54f)
emerge error: invalid digest file
emerge fatal error: command unpack failed
emerge fatal error: running python C:\KDE\emerge\portage\dev-util\pexports\pexports-0.44.py unpack

I hacked my way around that by manually changing the hash in the .py file.

Now it can't compile openssl:
Code: Select all
emerge warning: entering the source directory!
entering: C:\KDE\build\win32libs-sources\openssl-src-1.0.0b\work\openssl-1.0.0b
C:\KDE\build\win32libs-sources\openssl-src-1.0.0b\work\openssl-1.0.0b\configure --prefix=/c/KDE   shared enable-md2 zlib-dynamic --with-zlib-lib=libzlib.dll.a --with-zlib-include=/c/KDE/include mingw64
C:\KDE\bin\sh.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
emerge fatal error: command compile failed
emerge fatal error: running python C:\KDE\emerge\portage\win32libs-sources\opens
sl-src\openssl-src-1.0.0b.py compile

I tried starting over and manually dropping msys in c:\KDE, but then cmake complains I can't have sh.exe in my PATH.

I'm at a loss here - what should I do? (please don't say 'use the binary installer' because I plan to use this environment for more than just KDE - KDE is just step 1)

OS is Windows 7 x64.

Thanks for any help!
