I tried installing the 4.7 release yesterday (the first release I have installed) and for some reason phonon doesn't work (navigating to the phonon tab crashes systemsettings and programs like amarok won't produce sound.) I am also unable to set my shelll to plasma, the option being greyed out. I checked in the filesystem and the plasma executable and the phonon dlls are definitely in the install path, but for some reason these don't work.
I am on windows 7 64 bit and have tried multiple compilers though the installer. Do I have to do something like add the KDE install folder to my path, or do I have some other problem? |

I will look into this issue later today or this week, this seems to be more common. Maybe you could also make a bug report against kde-windows on bugs.kde.org so you can see the results.

I tried reinstalling (and wiping the cacheded packages and reinstalling) but the problems persisted.
