Hello, sorry if my problem has been solved somewhere already, but I couldn't find anything about it...
I want to use Kile for creating LaTeX documents and have some problems after installing. I use WIndows 7 32bit and Miktex. I downloaded the kdewin-installer-gui-latest.exe. Installation went without problems, but when I launch Kile 4.7.0, I get an error: "No editor component found. Please check your KDE installation." The kile window opens nevertheless and I can click "system check" in the menu, which responds: "The following tools did not pass all critical tests: Okular Your system is not ready to use. Please consult the results to find out what to fix." and "Could not find the binary for these essential tool." (meaning okular) Is this a common issue? I double-checked that the okular-graphics-package is installed... |

Hello there..
Same problem here (KDE 4.7 latest, with Kile version 2.1.60). Got a workaround by installing Kate. Now Kile is working flawlessly. HTH regards, blue.pug |

How can I install Kate for Windows? Is Kate part of the KDE-windows-compilation at all? Using the windows-installer I could not find a Kate-package..

The kate package is a sub-item under kdesdk. You will find it there in the windows installer.

Ok, now I know what those little triangles are supposed to mean^^
Thanks plue.bug and P3t3r for your help! After the installation of Kate I don't get the error message any more when starting Kile. But the second problem still exists: Okular seems not to work. I don't get any preview (Okular is the software to generate the preview-images I think). The system check still tells me: "The following tools did not pass all critical tests: Okular Your system is not ready to use. Please consult the results to find out what to fix." and "Could not find the binary for these essential tool." |

Hi guys!
I'm a newbie over here and I just bump into the same problem _qwert_ describe. How can I add C:\ProgramData\KDE\bin\ to my PATH variable? |

First, you should verify that it has not already been added. Open the terminal (cmd) and run "echo %PATH%" and see if that path contains it.
If it does - try running 'kbuildsycoca4.exe'.

Ok well I did it thanks to: http://geekswithblogs.net/renso/archive ... ows-7.aspx
Just add the line "C:\ProgramData\KDE\bin" and THAT problem is resolved... Too bad Kile is not working anyway! I followed this howto: http://www.latex-community.org/forum/vi ... =20&t=8212 but when i click on "QuickBuild" simply nothing happens...! |

Weel, it looks like I've encountered this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/394598 but the solution they say in this link is not working for me.
Also, if I try to create a new project, I got the error message "The file could not be loaded, as it was not possible to read from it. Check if you have read access to this file." ...I thought it was easy to get Kile working on Windows...!!! |
