Well, I am currently trying to install KDE Windows 4.7 via the installer on a XP 64-bit machine. Without success I must say.
What I tried was the following: a) Start the installer on another machine (32-bit), select "Download Only" dies after fetching the package list from sourceforge with an error "failed to download site list page" b) Download the complete 4.7 directory from winkde.org via ftp and then pointing the installer to this directory gives the same error. c) Installing KDE 4.7 on the 32-bit machine via the installer and then copying the installation directory to the 64-bit offline machine allows me to start e. g. kate. But File->Open leads to a crash. No file dialog is shown. And this brings me to the following question: As neither "Download Only" nor "Install from local directory" seems to be working in my case, how can I install KDE 4.7 for Windows on a 64-bit machine without any internet connection and without another 64-bit machine available? Any clues? Thanks! |
