Hi--

I just installed Kate along with Konsole in my new iMac ( OS X 10. and the terminal is not there when I opened kate. I have used

View > Tool Views > Show terminal but nothing is there. Any idea?

Yes it is enabled

Is Konsole installed on your system?

I did installed konsole but after the I installed kate. I am suspecting that there may be a missing element in my installation.

try the irc channel #kde-mac

Have you run "kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental" as your normal user?
Also, try running Kate in a terminal to see if that gives out any useful output as to why the Konsole plugin is failing to load correctly.

Also - does Konsole itself work properly?

I even had problem with okular and that has been solved too simultaneously.

You should be able to use the package manager to do that - how did you install Kate?

It's been awhile, but I installed MacPorts and then I believe I installed Kate using something like sudo port install kate or something similar.

Could you try running the following command in that case? It will hopefully install Konsole.

I had to apparently do a migration because I upgraded to Yosemite. Anyways,

So I installed Konsole, but nothing shows up in Kate. I got this message while installing.

Don't forget that dbus needs to be started as the local user (not with sudo)
before any KDE programs will launch.
To start it run the following command:
launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist

So I followed it, but got this:

/opt/local/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.freedesktop.dbus-system.plist: Operation already in progress

Not sure that it's "already in process" because it'd been running for hours while I was at work.

You may need to rebuild Kate after installing Konsole.
