I tried installing Kdenlive using MacPorts today on a Mac mini running OS 10.9 and received the following message after running sudo port install kdenlive in Terminal:

Based on the error log, you are running Mac OS X Maverick - which is currently unsupported by Qt 4. Given that development focus has switched to Qt 5 for Qt upstream, I don't know if this will be fixed any time soon.

I would suggest contacting Macports upstream for further information on when Qt 4 will be buildable on Maverick.

Thanks so much for your reply here. I tracked down the MacPorts ticket thread upstream where devs have been working to get QT4 to build on Mavericks (seems like QT5 is kind of a mess in that regard, too) and there are apparently lots of apps that are now pooched for OS 10.9 because QT4 fell over. The good news is that a few folks have gotten it to compile and build on Mavericks and I suspect they will be releasing a working port of QT4 any time now. I guess my remaining question is whether this will manifest in an updated distfile for Kdenlive, and when that might be expected...

As mentioned above, Qt 4 currently is not buildable on OS X Mavericks, you will need to wait until it has been made compilable before you can build Kdenlive on OS X.
