Hello KDE
This is my first post, so i am introducing my self here: My Name is Valentin Zeller, im a Physics student in Munich and im 26 Jears old In my opinion having this forum is Great! Many thanks to the maintainers and moderators  I recently migrated From Fedora 9 Linux to Mac Leopard on a Intel Processor. Therefore i needed my e-mail on Mac. So i installed from mac.kde.org since the 4.1.2 package doesnt have kdepim i installed the older beta version first and then installed the 4.1.2 over the existing. Now i have the newer kde framework with an old kmail. 1. Its not pritey, since all the icons are missing, but it works. 2. Communication with kwalletmanager is bad too. Everytime i click on "check e-mail", i have to enter the passwords for all 5 accounts. That sucks. Starting kwalletmanager bevore kmail isnt much better. Doesnt ask for passord to open the wallet .. so im thinking its just not asked to open the wallet. 3. Additionally when i try to open an attachment, it just crashes. What im asking now is: First: Is There a way to get a better integrate kwalletmanager, get icons and avoid crashes? Second: Will ther be an update to kde 4.1.3 on mac.kde.org including kdepim? Third: Is there a better way to install kde including kdepim on Leopard? (ports fink compiling from source ....) Please Help me figuring this out I want to thank you for your effort in advance. Thank You Yours Valentin --- Edit --- Someone in IRC: irc.freenode.net #kde-mac said, the next update would most likeley be 4.2 packages

Hello, Could you provide us with a download to the working kdepim? I just discovered that its not included in the 4.1.2 download on mac.kde.org. I've been using linux for 3+ years now and I just recently switched to mac. I have lots of things saved in kjots, and I installed kde primarily for kjots. Would really like to use it again on my mac. |

I also want to add that the 4.1 beta torrents from mac.kde.org arent working (no seeds), so it seems there's no other way to get kdepim for osx right now.

Where can I check if it's available? So far only KDE 4.1.2 is available on mac.kde.org. Is there somewhere else I can check?

Sorry about the noobness. I realize I supposedly can compile them myself (http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started ... 4/Mac_OS_X), but how about some binaries?

Have you considered using a virtual manager like VirtualBox or Parallels and running kde4.2 (your choice of distro) inside of osx?

Yep. That is a bit of a hassle, however. Would much prefer to have it native. Although I suppose my two gigs of ram would be sufficient.
I'll send you ten dollars through paypal if you give me working binaries (I need only kjots actually). Joke. Or not.

I'd suggest picking a live distro and dl'ing the .iso (ex http://home.kde.org/~binner/kde-four-live/ - this is a 4.2beta based on openSuse) and of course VirtualBox is here http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads ps - give $10 to kde or a foss project of your choice |

Thank you for the link to the livecd. I will try it. Haven't tried opensuse but it seems to have a pretty good rep.

Know what sucks? Somewhere between the time I posted this comment and 4.2.0 the same bug that prevented it from working in the past crept back in. Macports has a working portfile for everything _except_ kdepim.
