I'm trying to install kate on my mac and im getting the following errors:

Looks like you're on Snow Leopard, because this is a 64-bit incompatability issue you get there. I can also see you have two versions of Qt installed: the one from MacPorts, and the binary packages from Nokia. When you try to compile kdelibs, it gets confused with the two.
Try setting the following environment variables, assuming you have MacPorts installed in the default directory /opt/local/:
Not sure if that has an influence on the building process in MacPorts, but if it does, this could do the trick. |

As you can see.. it at least gives a different error I'll try uninstalling the nokia Qt tmr and see if that gives any difference. |

I have the same error here. I installed Nokia package then uninstalled, but this is not the problem.
The real issue is something about 64-bit. So I think KDE 4.3 is not ready for Snow Leopard yet. |

Has anyone tried to force i386 in macports.conf? I just did, but it will take some time to get any results

I tried changing the universal_archs property in macports.conf from "x86_64 i386" to just "i386" and tried installing
It doesn't seem to honor that change, I can see the /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 lines all over Any other ideas? Thanks |
