KDEbase installation frozen

Fri Jan 08, 2010 3:43 pm
Hi,

I am a newbie to Mac. Owing to my addiction to using the Kate editor, I decided to install KDEbase on my machine has Snow Leopard installed on it. I followed the instructions given on this kde4mac website - http://mac.kde.org.

(1) I installed Macports
(2) sudo port sync
(3) sudo port install kdebase4

I am in the middle of step 3 now. It seems to be taking too long, more than 45mins since it started. At this point it seems to have frozen with the following lines:

...
---> Applying patches to qt4-mac
---> Configuring qt4-mac
---> Building qt4-mac

I am not sure whether to kill the installation and start fresh or wait for something to happen. Some advice on this will really be helpful.

Thank you very much

Building Qt4 can take some time, it takes approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours for my system to build it.

Unless someone knows how to completely erase the other(nokia) qt version?
