Hi there,
I'm completely new to KDE and i'm also not an experienced linux user. I know the basic commands, i know my way in vi and i know a little shell and python, but commands for installing thing from the terminal, that i don't know. So, i'm trying to install KDE and i got stuck. My doubt is perhaps very basic but here it goes: i downloaded all the KDE packages from this page http://mac.kde.org/?id=download in order, and i made the simple installation with the mac os installer (it actually opened the packages automatically with the installer). Now i'm supposed to have KDE installed, but the only thing i have is a bunch of documents in /opt/local/shared/applications/kde4 with .desktop termination, like kate.desktop or amarok.desktop. What are these and how am i supposed to open them? |

Hi,
The installation packages are very old. You basically have to install them from the command line. You need to go to the website of Fink (http://www.finkproject.org/download/ind ... phpLang=en) or Macports, and follow their instructions for installing. Then, you need to follow the instructions on this page: http://mac.kde.org/?id=Installation Edmund |
