Hi everybody,
I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.6 at the moment however I tried it also with the latest 10.5 version I had the same issues. I've installed KDE, Kdegames 4 to be more specific via MacPorts. Unfortunately every time I'm trying to launch some application it just starting, jumping few seconds in the Dock and than nothing happens. System marks this application as "not responding" and I can only kill it. I've been searching a lot for some solution but unfortunately nothing seems to help. I've changed the owner of the "Preferences" folder. When I'm executing:
it just says:
When I'm starting an application directly from command line:
I'm getting this:
and then the behavior is the same as when I'm starting it via the Applications menu. I read a bit and this error, is either a warning, should not really causing this problem. The dbus daemon seems to be active:
Any idea what can I do wrong? Best regards, Radek |

Is a dbus-daemon running as part of the session? (ie. with --session as part of it's arguments) At least on Linux, a session D-Bus instance is needed.
Can you run "qdbus"?

Thanks for your reply first
When I'm trying to qdbus it returns:
I'm not sure but I thought that the"launchctl load ..." should start the session D-Bus instance. Or am I wrong? Regards, Radek |

It seems to be intended to do that. I would suggest checking with the MacPorts or KDE Mac package maintainers however.
