Hi all,
I tried to follow the instructions at http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?s ... 4061901344 in order to install kile on MAC but I didn't succeed (I have a MacBook Pro that I've just recently bought). Is there something simpler ? Thanks. |

I've tried to do this, and have also has the same miserable luck; I am looking into why this may be. If I figure it out, I will be sure to let you know.

Hi,
I have a MacBook late 2006 and I am using KILE 2.1 beta5 with http://www.macports.org and a recent MacTeX/TeXLive installation. Works fine here and runs native under OS X. But beware the QT4 package takes about a night and some hours to compile. Looks pretty good and you can use Preview.app for your PDFs. See linked pictures. |

Has anyone figured out how to set Preview as the default pdf reader for Kile when running in Mac OS X? I have a running version now and would like to use quick build to open up my documents in preview.app. Any ideas? What settings should I change?

Settings -> Tools -> Build
There ViewPDF. Press "New…" and name the configuration. Change command to "open" and options to "'%target'" (both without the "") This will open the pdf with the default viewer for OS X. You don't have to close the pdf to recompile the tex file. A nice feature. See screenshots for details: http://image.bayimg.com/cajnhaadb.jpg http://image.bayimg.com/cajndaadb.jpg |
