Re: Upgrade KDE Version on RHEL

Hi all,

I finally managed to compile KDE 4.9.5 for CentOS 6.3. This is an early "just works" stage, so no neat RPM packages are available now,
however I put the binary and source tarballs and a tutorial on my blog:
http://blog.welmers.net/bastiaan/2013/0 ... n-el6.html

I'm working for a day with this new environment, and it works quite well. But I haven't any deep testing done yet.

Good luck, and I hope I'll find some time to get thing nicer. And if someone has suggestions, for example the best or easiest way to get it in RPM ...

Hi, guys,
on Fedora I use standalone kde repository http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/
kde-testing and kde-unstable provides fresh version of kde.
Now, on SL, updates is only in the kde-unstable, which is (suddenly) unstable. Have you tried to use it? I'm afraid to get Fedora 19 at home ;)
