Hi,
I'm struggling for a while with a problem at KDE Login after the KDM-Start: First, i got 0 Bytes free on root-Partition, as i tried to install eclipse: No Warning, just blackscreen, had to reboot <Ctrl><Break>R,E,I,S,U,B. Then i couldn't login into KDE anymore, but i could open a virtual terminal and login with the same username/password as before in KDE. I cleaned up the system by deleting tmp- and cache-folders, did a resizing of the root-partition, did a
Then i tried an other user-account, that i didn't use before and the login to KDE worked fine. But when i had a look at the .xseesion-errors of that account, there are many many errors regarding kded_activitymanager or QDBus QFileSystemWatcher f.e. "failed to add paths: /home/muex/.config/ibus/bus", and "Can not get ibus-daemon's adress" Environment:
Thank's for any advice |

How much disk space is free on your system? The output of the command "df -h" will provide this.
As for the output to ~/.xsession-errors, as long as this settles down after login completes, I would not worry too much about it. If the output continues to be made excessively after login has completed and the system has settled down, then that could have been the cause for the breakage under your prior user.

Sorry for my late reply, i was switching to another Laptop and the new Dist-Release Kubuntu 12.04 LTS.
But, i think the problem still exists:
My '~/.xsession-errors ' file grows -after a clean login- to a size of 86KB with messages like:
Is this a really well functioning system ? regards mue.de |

that could help developper to find more bug when you submit one.

It certainly appears to be a properly functioning KDE startup. Can you reproduce this under a new user?
Also, can you confirm that "plasma-desktop" and "krunner" are both running after startup has completed using a VT console?

I've reportetd many bugs (f.e. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/akonadi/+bug/578357/comments/10 ) or tried to find a similar bug, but I've never got an appropriate answer to solve my problems; sorry ;-( I've installed Reporting Tools, (Dr.Konqi), spent hours and hours on trouble-shooting, but all i got was more and more wasted ressources and at last an unusable system. Now I'm at the third generation of Kubuntu (Hardy, Lucid, now Precise an my wife's Ubuntu-Precise-System), but the errors still seems to be the same (Akonadi-Crashes, MySQL-missconfigured system, Kmail-Crashes...). But inspite of that, i love the system and it's potential (love/hate/love So, let me know what bug i should report and how i have to do it, then i will produce the input. |
