do you have a printer installed? cups? I would think that if you set the variable and the file was not found it would be created if needed
I have the file (see below)
ps moved to Operating System specific -> linux, as it seems more appropriate |

More info : -) platform Version 4.7.2 (4.7.2) "release 5" -) Yes I print via CUPS By searching on google I found : A) -The file kdeprintrc seems to be used in KDE3. -The file path is automatically retrieve by issueing this command : $(kde-config --localprefix)/share/config/kdeprintrc ( KDE3) B) From http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/KDEPrint : -These pages were for the project co-ordination of KDEPrint in KDE3. KDEPrint is no longer used in KDE4 and has been replaced by the Qt printing infrastructure and the system-config-printer tool. Some useful information has been transferred to http://community.kde.org/Printing for reference purposes. So as KDEPrint is no longer available, how I can createit and what to put in it. Thank you for helping. |

I have no installation problem. Freenx was updated until 18.08.2008. Freenx search for things which exists in KDE3 (kdeprintrc) but which are not in KDE4. Hence my question : kdeprintrc replacement in kde4 ? |

In KDE 4, the KDEPrint system was replaced with the Qt 4 printing system. My guess would be that it is configured through the Qt 4 configuration file in that case. Please see ~/.config/Trolltech.conf.
I do not know what options NX needs to tweak in particular, however I do know that Qt 4 supports CUPS (and LPR too I think, although this is removed from Qt 5).
