Howdy and I had Ubuntu 12.04 (Pinguy), install on my system and I use one window program E-Reader so I can read secured E-books, (and Yes I do know of the Linux's E-book reader calibre and use it but can not read secure e-books with it) but I did not like the Gnome Shell so I install KDE full but now when I run E-reader under Kde I get no ((window program set up for that ???)) but it will and still works under gnome and being a book reader and not a game looking under wineHQ did not help so what I am looking for some help as to where I need to look at setting, config, and what have you to get E-reader to work under Kde

Thank you for any and all help

1st I'm not sure which e-book reader you are referring to, it is http://www.ereader.com/ereader/software/browse.htm ?

if so i tried loading their Linux sw (ran Alien to create a rpm) and it installed but did not look functional

I then dl'ed the Windows version and installed it (used the setup.exe, not the .msi file ) and it ran and looked more complete and functional then the Linux version unde KDE - but as I do not have any secure ebooks can not test.

Just because WineHQ has no entry does not mean the sw will not run, only that is not been tested and posted.

what about the Kindle reader? does it read secure books (oblviously I'm clueless on this subject)? if so you have 2 choices: 1) install with Wine http://lifehacker.com/5406505/run-kindl ... -with-wine 2) use the Kindle cloud reader http://techlaze.com/2011/08/linux-users-kindle-cloud/

Howdy and yes that is the one I use and I also used the exe file and it seem to install but when I go to start it, I get a wine pop up saying no window progam set up so I am hoping it is something I am over looking under kde and I know that if I log in to the gnome desktop it will run there for the most part

Can you provide a screenshot of that dialog please?
Screenshots should be posted using services such as imagebin.org.
