Allright switched back to fglrx (with driver download of website) and did a benchmark with glxgears (same program as benchmark with other open source drivers)... the results, here they are
ward@ward-desktop:~/downloads$ glxgears 11369 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2270.307 FPS 10993 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2197.166 FPS 11125 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2224.955 FPS 11149 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2229.796 FPS 11485 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2295.541 FPS 11533 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2306.585 FPS This is the best thing I can get of my ati 1650 (any other suggestions or tweaks are welcome)! Somebody that knows when I used the opensource drivers my amarok lost it's collection info and didn't get ratings etc (@startup he said couldn't start klauncher), when I switched back to fglrx drivers everything was fine again! The only problem I have now is when I play video and desktop effects are turned on, the video flickrs very hard. Any suggestions on this problem? Here is the xorg.conf I used for the latest configuration. Hope others can learn from my experience! Ward
