Once KDE4 is compiled from source code, how do I set the KDE4 version of KDM (the one in /opt/KDE4/bin) as the default login?

I am using kubuntu and there is a file /etc/X11/default-display-manager which contents is the path to my kdm.

I too build from trunk. Edit the path in default-display-manager.
If you already have /etc/init.d/kdm, edit it and change all the paths to point to /opt/KDE4/ If not, you could always get one from your distro's kdm package. Then run "update-rc.d kdm defaults 99 01 >/dev/null" to create the start/stop rc entries. |
