Hi just aquired an HP laserjet pro cp1025nw,as usual there are no specific drivers for this model ,I have installed the hplip drivers from the Gentoo repository at version 3.12.6.
The problem is the printer keeps asking for a plugin. I rechecked the hp.com site again last night and the version there now is 3.12.9,which has a problem in the python setup.py script, ,which I'm not able to fix( braindead,& no programming skills)tis a syntax error, and refuses to compile. Any suggestions both ways,I might be able to deduce something that'll help. The following is the cups error.log
Just thought this might help a bit |

The setup.py file can be ignored, and is not relevant.
Please see the notes at http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/mo ... 025nw.html It seems running "hp-setup" should help you setup the printer and install the needed plugin you mentioned - this command may need to be run as root.
