Multiple logons problems

Sun Mar 17, 2013 4:38 pm
Hello,

I create a second session as a different user and when I log off the second user, the screen remains in LightDM screen. It does not go into tty mode back. This causes me to click
shutdown or restart on both user screen to make the buttons operate.

Is there anyone knows the solution?

if you didn't log off the 1st user you should be able to toggle back to it with alt+ctrl+F7 (this is usually the 1st gui session, subsequent sessions are alt+ctrl+F8 ....)

if you want to go to tty mode then alt+ctrl+F1

I don't understand your 2nd sentence, what buttons are you referring to?

Ok, i will try to explain in another words:

I login for a user (this is ctrl+alt+f7) and create another session for another user (ctrl+alt+f8).

I switch to the second user, do some operations and log off. It goes back to login screen (LightDM) in ctrl+alt+f8, not in tty mode back.

Then I switch to the first user and shutdown computer from here. It logs off then goes into boot mode but does nothing else. The only way to continue shutdown operation is going to Lightdm screen of second user and clicking to Shutdown from there, too.

In conclusion, I always need to click Shutdown for every user.

as far as I know LightDM is standard only on *buntu's, so you may be best off posting there

Does LightDM open on the tty7 screen when you logout of the first user?

Do you mean while second user is logged in?

No. After you have logged out of the second user's session (after which LightDM appears on their tty) does logging out of the first user cause LightDM to appear on that tty - or does it leave you with a blank screen/nothing?

Oh i see. It just writes "Enabling laptop mode" in black screen and remains like that. The I switch into second user and restart or shutdown by appropriate buttons on LightDm.

Okay, this is likely outside of the scope of what KDE can do in this instance, as these sorts of issues are supposed to be handled by the display manager - LightDM. I would suggest asking on the Kubuntu forums, or filing a bug report against LightDM on Launchpad.
