Hi, First no idea if this is the right forum or if I'm being off-topic.
The situation is as follows. I have a Genius Look 312P Webcam. Now from lsusb I know that is is a zc0301 with vendor 0ac8.
And in the linux kernel config I have chosen to compile as module two drivers One is 'USB GSPCA driver' and the is 'USB ZC0301[P] Image Processor and Control Chip support' With the USB ZC0301[P] one it dmesg says
but no video device is created. with USB GSPCA I get a /dev/video1 but it doesn't work (neither in kopete nor skype) dmesg for that module says:
Any Ideas how to make my webcam work? Thanks in Advance

In Linux 2.6.27, they finally added the gspca drivers into the kernel itself, however, they also took some things out.
To have things working, you will need to use libv4l, which you may need to install. So to have the new libraries loaded into Kopete (or Skype) you will have to use the LD_PRELOAD variable (assuming you have v4lcompat.so in the place as me), and start it like this:
...and your video should work!

Thanks! After I emerged the library now I can see myself in the Configure Dialog!
Now I've got to see how do I forward a port if I'm using dhcp (I had static IP previously so I could make reference to my machine by IP, now I don't know)
