In the last few weeks, automatic suspending has stopped working. System settings looks normal: Energy Saving > On AC Power > Suspend Session > 10 minutes > Sleep.

Nothing in /var/log/pm-suspend.log and nothing in /var/log/kern.log. It was working fine a month ago.

Cheers.

KDE 4.10.5
Kubuntu 13.04
(P.S. I seem to be hitting so many bugs recently, which very few other people seem to mention. I'm thinking about trying a different distro when I have more spare time, perhaps OpenSuse?)

I just upgraded to Kubuntu 13.10 (KDE 4.11.2), which seems to have fixed this.

Seems like I'm still hitting this intermittently. Is there any way to determine which processes are inhibiting automatic suspension?

There is no direct method unfortunately. However, it does seem that debug output may be generated which could be of use.
You can use "kdebugdialog" to enable all debug areas, then logout and back in again.

Next time you strike the inhibition issue, try grepping the log for references to "Added inhibition" - which should hopefully reveal the application performing the inhibitions.

There is also references in the source code to "releaseAllInhibitions" which should be available in the D-Bus interface of Powerdevil.

Okay, thanks again. I'd actually prefer not to use kdebugdialog, because ~/.xssession-errors becomes incredibly bloated for me. I noticed recently that it was 58 GB, so now I'm redirecting it to /dev/null (see bug).

I guess I'll just wait and see how much of a problem this is. At the moment, it's fairly infrequent.

Oki - if you get the above output at any point, please do post it as others could be experiencing this issue as well possibly.
