Hey everybody,
I've never used KDE with a trackpad before. So I installed the kde-trackpad package to configure some stuff. Now everything that was driving me insane before works (disabling trackpad when typing, etc). But it made the scrolling very sensitive. It scrolls way too fast and none of the techniques I found online actually work. I'm not trying to make the mouse cursor slower but the page-scrolling. I don't have issues with this when using a mouse and none of the settings I can set in my Touchpad Settings seem to affect it in a way that I would like. Any advice on this? Because it's driving me mad Thanks in advance, SpaceKookie |

Have you tried changing the "Mouse wheel scrolls by" setting in System Settings > Input Devices > Mouse > Advanced?

Hey there. Yay I thought you had forgotten about this thread Yes I tried that but it doesn't seem to affect anything else but if I plug in my mouse :/ I also tried searching around for an xinput parameter that I could change but couldn't find one that dealt with scrolling, just moving the mouse cursor. |

Who's the trackpad vendor? Synaptics or egalax? (or somebody entirely different?)
in doubt, try "lspci" or "lsusb" |

Hmm. Could you post the output of "synclient -l"?

Hey you guys, thanks for the replies.
1) I have a MacBook Pro (2009). Not sure who manufactured the trackpad there or if it's Apple inhouse. Anyways here are pastes for the commands: lspci: http://paste.debian.net/107644/ lsusb: http://paste.debian.net/107645/ synclient: http://paste.debian.net/107647/ Hope that gives you some info about what might be going wrong with my system! |

Please try running the following command:
Does that impact on the scrolling speed?

Yes!! Excellent :3 I set both values to "80" and now it's perfect :3 Thank you very much I might have to add that line to a startup script but that makes my laptop a hell of a lot more usable Thanks for the help <3 |
