Font size issue with two monitors

Sat Aug 08, 2015 5:14 pm
Hello everybody!

Have some issue with KDE for a long-long time. Hardware setup is the following: NVidia 440 GT card, Samsung monitor (DVI) and Samsung TV (HDMI). Have Debian 8 right now, however bug came from time of using openSUSE 11,12,13. In all cases native, proprietary NVidia drivers are set up. As soon as I plug in the second monitor into
HDMI, font in KDE becomes really small. Plug it out and restart - font becomes normal. Get used to cope with this problem by setting up "Force fonts DPI" at 96. Had done such thing until new version of Chromium came in. For some reason it seems to take the DPI option from the system and makes its look awful (top panel occupies 10% of screen height). Of course look of sites and Chromium menus are also large, huge and awful. Tried to play with Chromium zoom and font size but it still reserves height for fonts according to system DPI setting.

Maybe there is some solution for the very initial problem with plugging in the second monitor?

P.S. transfer to another browser is not the option - really get used to Chromium. Still Iceweasel doesn't have such issue.

Thanks for your help.
