Hi KDE Users,

I would love to compile KDE4.2 aka beta1 or 4.1.8x on my Kubuntu Intrepid machine..
Can someone maybe help me step by step?
I look'd at the wiki on techbase but, its somehow very confusing...

Please, I know openSuSE has a factory repository for this, but I dont want to use openSuSE, I realy only want to compile it on my Kubuntu machine and maybe pack some deb's thanks.. :-)

Hi,

you can use kde-nightly. Append
[code]
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/project-neon/ubuntu intrepid main
[/deb]

to /etc/apt/sources.list and install kde-nightly.

But to be safe you should run it with a different user. I went into some trouble when running KDE 4.1.3 and KDE 4.trunk twice with the same user in different X sessions.

Cheers, m.

yeah.. I know project-neon... thanks, but i really only want to compile it my self..
Project-neon-kde-nightly is not very usable for me...

I want to learn it .. :-) not just use it......
And I got one week to do so before i have to start work again..

Oh, then I misunderstood.Yould can have a look at:

http://techbase.kde.org/Getting_Started/Build/kdesvn-build

It is a little bit hidden in techbase.

I've tested KDE unstable on my computer and, despite of the bugs, it is cool!

I can't wait for the final version *.*
