I posted this in the Manjaro forums but I'm not getting much help there. Basically this is an older version of Xilinx software but it's the newest version (14.7) AFAIK that works with the FPGA's I'm looking to use it for. There's an Arch package for this but it requires downloading the tarball from Xilinx and placing it in the build directory. That package has a build script issue but I got it to run anyway and it keeps failing with segfaults. Then I tried manually installing which also fails with a floating point exception, segfault error.
After looking around it seems to have an issue with including it's own QT libs and conflicting with KDE's. The 2 suggestions I read were to set the environment variables as "unset QT_PLUGIN_PATH" and "unset KDE_SESSION_VERSION". I've had no luck with either. I found a writup on a batch install that bypasses the GUI and I did get it to install but it will not start as it crashes while the GUI is loading with a floating point exception again. and now I'm out of ideas. I'd rather not have to switch DE's or anything just to use this. The Arch writeup: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xilinx_ISE_WebPACK Arch AUR package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/xilinx-ise/ Another helpful writeup I found http://stromeko.net/FPGA/ISE_WebPack_Notes.html Thanks |
