Kppp

Fri Nov 28, 2008 8:01 pm
I've recently reactivated an old laptop and after installing Linux, using an external modem, I can dial out successfully BUT can't get onto the Internet. I keep getting the following msg:

"TIME OUT EXPIRED WAITING ROR PPP INTERFACE TO COME UP"

Does that make any sense to any of you? If so, what has to be done on this end to get on the Internet using the current hardware/software mix?

Make sure the "show log window" checkbox is ticked when you try to connect. Post the output of that here ( make sure to obscure any personal information such as username )
