Since the last build of KDE 4.2 Beta 2, I get the following problem:
I configured openSUSE 11.1 for runlevel 5 and autologin, but after reboot, it stops at the konsole-login prompt, does not start the xwindows. Manually 'startx' gets into PLASMA.
I have not checked the /etc/inittab entry 'init' yet.

A second problem:
KMix does not start up correctly into the systemtray. Calling Kmix via Alt+F2 causes an entry in the taskbar for some seconds, but nothing happens. No sound ist available.

Any idea how to fix it?

Problem 1. If you are using autologin, you need to disable it. Edit /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager as root, and remove your user from the DISPLAYMANAGER_AUTOLOGIN parameter. Restart kdm and all would be well

Problem 2. Start alsamixer. If you get "permission denied", add your user to the "audio" group, then restart alsasound and log out and back in.
