Remove a package

Thu Feb 05, 2009 2:39 am
I have installed Kubuntu 8.10 and want to upgrade to KDE 4.2. The 1st step is to remove the koffice-data-kde4 package and as a newbie I could use a little more descriptive instruction.

If Adept says KOffice is not installed can I safely assume the package was not installed?

Yes, the koffice2 packages are not installed by default. You would have had to consciously add the repository koffice-kde4 is in and have manually installed koffice-kde4. If you're running a fresh Kubuntu 8.10 you can just add the KDE 4.2 repository in and upgrade.
