My question is how big ram do I need for
openSuse11.1 to run on a 64bit computer.Could please someone give me hand to answer me.

Any number upwards from 512Mb should be fine. 1gb should cover most uses with reasonable performance using KDE 4. There are no RAM differences between 32bit and 64bit computers.

Not necessarily true, although in most cases it is. If, for example, you use Skype you need both 64-bits and 32-bits libraries loaded. It shouldn't a huge difference though.


OpenSUSE 11.4, 64-bit with KDE 4.6.4

That depends on the motherboard. We would need a model number. If it is a 64-bit system it should be able to use at least 4gb, but it might be able to use substantially more.

Yes it is 64-bit,how can I find out what is my motherboard in my book front page it tell`s me P4m890/900M2.
