I recently installed Mythdora on a frontend for my MythTV system. I have KDE installed and it works; however, the system refuses to make KDE as my default desktop. I have tried the switchdesk command and it runs without error, but Gnome persists as the default desktop. What should I change? When I use google to look for answers, it appears that the suggestions are for earlier versions of KDE or for older distros. A common suggestion is to edit /etc/sysconfig/desktop, which is not there. Mythdora 10.21 uses Fedora 10. I can't seem to get the system to use KDE without expressly choosing it at the login screen. What else can I post to clarify what is happening on my system?
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance. Tom |

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, Fedora 10 does not use this method and the referenced directories/files are not there. I will continue my search in a Fedora forum, as it now appears to me that this is a distro question rather than a desktop configuration issue. |

You must create a file /etc/sysconfig/desktop and add the following entries:
DESKTOP="KDE" DISPLAYMANGER="KDE" |
