Hi.

I'm using Kubuntu 9.04 and I'm having a problem.
Last night I was downloading packages with my KPackageKit as my Pc suddenly shut down. From then on, I'm unable to install any new packages on my desktop. When I use KPackageKit it says I should close every programm acessing KPackageKit and I should only use 1 Package-managing-program (I actually don't use another).
When I try to download packages through the console, it says I should run
Code: Select all
sudo dpkg --configure -a

When I do so that's what happens:
Code: Select all
dpkg: Fehler beim Parsen, in Datei »/var/lib/dpkg/updates/0060« nahe Zeile 1:
 nach Feldname »

(-> Couldn't parse file /var/lib/dpkg/updated/0060 at line 1)
When I open this file with kate it shows something like
Code: Select all

J08.:'gң@]F%iM`K~ʪF^f֫T<r˝

This is a shortened version, there are about ~100 lines containing stuff like this.

I already tried to shred the file which didn't bring me any result.

Suggestions?

Hi,

it is not looking good but I'm pretty sure things are solvable - you'd best get help in www.kubuntuforums.net

I don't run debian anymore, but my first port of call was always
Code: Select all
apt-get install -f

Debian testing
